I cut the headstock to match the V, ready for sanding, and the neck pocket needs to be routed. I see the end in sight.

The Body has had the edges routered, and has been hydrated with water to raise the grain of the wood for finish sanding. It is sanded with 220 grit, after it dries, it will be sanded again, then steel wooled with 000 wool, this should give it an almost glass like smoothness. The Neck juncture on the back side still needs to be blended to the neck.

Hoss is right Petey, I cant play at all, but love building guitars. If I do a vid, it will be a few chops/licks, and even then they wont be very good.

Body is all sanded with 320 grit everywhere three times,
then size 000 steel wool was used to rub the sanded wood to a smooth glass like finish.
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l133/1eyecrooked/maple066.jpg

A few minutes later, stained and sealed.
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l133/1eyecrooked/maple067.jpg

Stained and sealed, this will cure for 72 hours, then the gloss coats start to go on.

I am having technical difficulties temporally. I looks like the pickups will need to be rewound, as I dropped them and damaged the windings. The wire is finer then hair, and breaks with ease. Looks like two weeks lead time on pickup repair. So please enjoys some elevator music in the mean time.

That'll give you some time to play your CB guitars before you get them to your niece/nephew.  Those websites are interesting.

The wonders of Corian countertop scrap. The nut and string tree are made out of Corian. The pickups should be back fromt the repair shop in a few days, and we will be ready to fly with a few tweeks to fix.

Genius Morty, i wonder why no one else has thought of corian for Lutherie. Did you get something fancy for cutting the string slots or 'run what ya already had'...the V just keeps looking better and better !

Cheers,
