I have a 15 amp Vox Pathfinder practice amp. It has an external 8 ohm speaker jack. How would you wire (2) 8 ohm speakers together that would still keep it at 8 ohm? Any drawings would be helpful.
...sorry, but it can't be done, unless you use other equipment.
...with two speakers there are only two possible combinations, either in SERIES (16 ohms = 8 + 8 ohms) or in PARALLEL (4 ohms = 8 || 8 ohms).
...however, if you use an "impedance matching transformer" (such as the "Z-Matcher" from Weber/VST), you can make the connection fairly simply...but it's only possible if you use such a device.
NOTE: "||" is a symbol used to denote "in parallel with" and is associated with the equations:
A = B||C: A = (B*C)/(B+C) ...two devices in parallel
A = B||C||D: A = 1/( 1/B + 1/C + 1/D ) ...three devices in parallel
