To make the story short, I am crippled... for atleast 4-6 weeks.
Sunday, fell on arm while playing soccer. Went to emergency room to find out I fractured bones in my right forearm. I am wearing a cast and can barely move my fingers. I am only able to use my left. Meaning no guitar.
What do I do?
Is it possible to play guitar with 1 hand? How?
That depends.
Really sorry to hear you broke yer arm Ed.
Cheers,
GuitarZen
bad news sorry to hear that. my suggestion take a break get well enjoy the time off from instrument you are going to have to rebuild strenght again when the cast comes off too. may i suggest you work on some theory or commit your brain to learning some guitar even if your hands wont allow you too. sometimes i lay in bed and use only my left hand to finger scales with no picking involved just run the scale with hammer ons and pull offs.
Well ED to say the least that sux......but as Cricketrider pointed out you can still play if your right handed thar is.......Plug it in do scales with hammers and pulloffs cause bthey can still be music and just think after all that scale and hammer on ands pull off practice you may become a better picker.......o...... the theory thing wouldnt be a bad idea........

well, well Its Ed,don,t give up you still have time .do some music ear training .well Its Ed,hope you get better.
Les Paul was in a car wreck, His right Elbow was reinforced by a metal plate. He Played that way for over 40 years, The only reason I'm telling you this is to help you as your arm heals, your mind can play the notes , work on fingering, work on speed , work on the little things, and the time won't drag near;y as slow......
Thanks again for all the ideas/support/care and its helped me to up to this point where I got my cast off and Im playing like before. Thanks to everyone and sorry to hear about that, TomBoy.

Its ok, i got myself into playing the keys/piano because my hand couldnt function properly with it in the bend needed for fretting.
Luckily now, its all fixed and all, and i have scars that tell such a good story too ![]()
