For my Chordbook friends, I had a bass in mind to build, but I have moved that back a few lines on the list, it will be done sometime in the future. This build will be a six stringer, Fender neck with homemade body, Stew Mac parts. ( http://www.stewmac.com/ ) The body will have a curly Cherry top with Ambrosia Maple back, with Walnut laminate. It will have an Ebony stained body, rubbed out to a lighter brown, and the top will be dyed red with tongue oil finish. I have a sample piece of wood finished to give me an idea what the end results might be. The shape of the body will be of a driftwood plank style, random rounding and dips and sings of weathered driftwood, only with a nice finish.

Oh oh,, I got side tracked,, inspiration hit me, it does that now and then, so I just go with it. I built this guitar in about 8 hours. I named it the Partagaser. It will be a Christmas gift to my sister, only 24 more cigar boxes to go. I was waiting on Router guide bushings I had ordered for the Cherry top plank project, so I will be back to that soon.

Ok, back on track now,, the body is starting to take shape, there is still more material to be removed all the way around, and allot of sanding yet to do.

Yes I did Buddy, a six sting on a cigar box creates extra engineering, a stronger box in integrity. Makes the price of materials go way up too.

WHAT DID HE DO TO THAT NICE BLOCK OF WOOD!?? It looks like driftwood now.
Allot of finish sanding is the next step, sanding every scratch and rasp mark down to a glass like smoothness.
The walnut door on the back will be the Pot service door. And the Jack port will go in the door of that.

Awesome Morty ! ! I like the contour around the neck and bridge on the top...also the arm relief...cool. Can you guesstimate the total cost less tooling? And yes, everyone wants to hear it !
