I have a 4 channel PA mixer with 60 Wats RMS output @ 4 ohms. Can I plug it into a 8 ohm speaker cab, or only a 4 ohm one?

Thanks.

...which: TUBE or SOLID-STATE amplifier?

...typically, TUBE amps using output transformers can safely handle speakers loads ranging between Z/2-to-2Z (where Z = specified ohms) with no problems...but, never greater than 2Z!

...typically SS amps having no output transformers (ie: direct coupling) can safely handle speakers loads GREATER than spec (ie: >Z) but not LOWER than Z.

I think it's solid state.

Here's a link:

...it's a SS-amp, and yes you can use an 8-ohm speaker load.
