I don't have much money so im going cheap. i need to make a decision between a digitech rp55, line 6 echo park, digitech bad monkey, or mxr dist. plus. what is the best choice? i play hard rock, prog. rock, alt. rock, metal, and shred

What are you trying to accomplish, and what other equipment do you have?
Also probably the best way to find out if you want something is to go to a store and try it out. It sounds obvious and a bit silly but while we may all offer opinions your ears are your best guide.

ihave the older RP 50 digitech . good GEAr for the money it has enough effects in it to keep you busy for week . plus a tuner built in i like the delay and phaser effects the most you can get lots of different amp models and distortion. lots of good presets and some lame ones to. the one draw back is it is kind of hard to mess with and it has kind of a digital sound to it. also note the built in drum machine.
if my calculations are correct SLINKY + ESCULATOR = EVERLASTING FUN
