My latest project, I rescued an old Squire Strat with a cracked neck pocket. It belongs to my nephew. He has no idea that I have it and we will give it back to him for his birthday this coming weekend. The body was made of plywood and not worth fixing, so we salvaged the parts and dropped them into a cigar box. It sounds cool and surffy, it isn't concert quality or bullet proof, but it plays.

Wow that's cool! You definately have some talent.

I wouldn't even know where to begin in creating something like that, I wish I had a little more technical knowledge in working with guitar electronics.

very nice "mort" thats the one that is a gift for a nephew. i was born to the wrong family.(
lol).  looks like you went with a premium cigar box did you shilack that or was it glossy to start?
are the necks on an instrument like this stable? does it hold tune well?  do you get defllection of the sound from say leaning back in your chair can you hear the note bend from changing the angle of the guitar or is it was more stable than i am thinking?

Every rule has an exception. Especially this one.
if my calculations are correct SLINKY + ESCULATOR = EVERLASTING FUN

Another FINE piece of work, Mort.  I can't wait for spring so I can get out in my shop and try building one of these.  I've got the web sites you gave me saved and will try to follow them for my first attempt.  Hopefully I can get to a git before my wife sees I didn't start on HER projects.
