nothing wrong with that at all! i was in cheyenne once and drove threw your state! wow what wide open space i was really blown away. maybe someday i can add to the least populated state. i have also been to the second least populated state and was a resident there for two years.

Hey Cowgirl, welcome aboard!
Don't sweat what others write about. If you write what is in your heart, and if you write about what you see and feel and think and know, you cannot go wrong.
A co-worker once found out I was into music and asked to hear some of it, so I gave her a bunch of songs I had recorded. The next day she informed me in no uncertain terms that my songs didn't all sound alike (she thought they should) and she concluded with "You have to get a style."
What she was getting at was that my music wasn't what she was immersed in- club mixes and dance music- and she couldn't imagine that anyone would not want to follow that crowd and do just like everyone else did in that style. Those who do are known as lemmings.
Your experience in this world has been and will always be unique. Your music should be so as well. Write about what you feel, and leave the popular states and concepts to those who have missed the opportunities that shape your life.
As for me, I am city-bound but get into the rural spaces as often as I can. Some day, who knows?

Cowgirl, welcome to chordbook, I have to ask you, What about "back in the country ".do you want to share with the rest of the world"? The world you create in your song has to come from the basic line of the song. It's your feelings that have got to tell the story. We can help, but, the story line has got to come from your memories, your feelings, and the way you want to convey them in your song.writing isn't hard after you decide what you want to tell the world with your music..keep us posted as to how your doing.I hope you reach a comfort zone with your writing. it's really fun once you find your Muse.
