Catching chords easily on the acoustic guitar...

Hey.....i just find catching bar chords tough...(bar chords.....chords like F#m....u catch 1 whole bar with ur first finger)....
I think there is adjustment you have to do with the finger board (bend it or sumthing)...does anyone know how that thing works????(turning one small screw like thing inside the sound hole)
i need quick help!!!

As a beginner myself, I wouldn't dream of attempting to adjust the truss rod apparatus, nope, no way. The Grand Barre chords will come...try your F#m by squeezing with thumb under index finger, ring and pinky for the A5 and D4 strings, 3rd fret, let us know how that feels. Move your thumb around some behind the neck to find the best 'squeeze' between it and your index finger.
