Modes-Ionian-Dorian-Phrygian

There are 6 modes. If I were playing in the key of G how would I play a G Ionian scale or any of the modes. For example: F# Mixolydian? Is it possible.

Question 2: What type of chords would you play any of the modes with. These modes really confuse me!

Thanks Boss, well i studied the graphic and some things dawned on me that i din't even know i knew ! And now, modes are much clearer and i think i could even write a paragraph or two about what i'm seeing.

Also, i did a 'save as' and can open the pic up in windows photo gallery and zoom in to make the great pic much bigger and easy to study offline. I'll print up a wall chart too. Thanks again, i will study this many times.
