I'm trying to understand some of the barre chords. Can someone explain to me how to mute a string? (i.e. what fingers are put where) Thanks alot.

Welcome to the board panic. I'm wondering if you're talking about Barre chords that show an 'X' over the E6 string, if so, that just means don't play it...and you can form the Barre chord in the usual way. If that's not what you mean, let us know, someone will help
