Hi everyone! sorry i'm new here
I've only been playin for about 2 or 3 months, i think i've come across the right site, I can't believe how helpful this place is!
I'm picking up chords really quickly, it's kinda offputting really. My problem isn't what the left hands doin, it's what my right hands supposed to be gettin up to, because it isn't!!!
Can anyone give me any pointers please on strumming technique or timing because all the other sites touch on everything but that and it doesn't seem to want to come to me naturally ![]()
Thankyou for any help you can spare

Hey Chel, no need really, everyone here was a 'beginner' once. I still feel like that. Yep, this is the best site of it's kind.
Ok, choose a group of chords you like the sound of together, say 4 of them. Play them in an order of your choosing. Write them out so you'll keep playing them in that order. Now then, starting with the first one, strum down once then once more, change chords, strum down once then once more, change chords again (3rd chord) strum down once, then once more, change to the last chord, strum down once, change to the first chord and repeat the whole process till you get the rhythm. You can expand on this and create your own rhythms.
You can tap your foot to keep 'time' or you could buy a metronome and either will help you begin to understand 'timing' and rhythm.
Also you could start listening to songs and see if you can pick out strumming patterns, of which there are many. Try some of that Chel and let us know how it goes.
