hi people i am new to this forum and would like some advice i play a les paul and am into rock and heavy metal  my guitar needs re stringing and i want to know what strings would best suit  i have no idea what guage would be best

Hey les paul learner, welcome to the board ! I like Elixers but before I'd put them on your guitar I'd check with my manufacturer to see what they like....a lot of times the strings they put on at the factory are what work best. Maybe someone else has a better idea though so stay tuned....so to speak..hey...
