Well I've been working with the chordbook for a good year or so now and I've learned an awful lot so I thought it was about time I registered and said thanks.  Had there been something remotely like this when I was a kid with my first guitar, I'd prolly be pretty good dang good by now !

I've been reading the board for the past couple of days and I've pretty much read everything. My head is spinning with the possibilities and I'm renewed and even more eager than ever to plunge ahead. I've been at it for over two years now and I have to admit without chordbook I may not have gotten a tenth this far this fast.

I'm chording easily and mostly without looking except with chords in songs I don't visit often. I notice that when I do though that they're easier each time. My barre is getting really easy and once I said I'd never even get Bb or Fm7, now I do.  I have an acoustic and I'm happy with it though I want an electric guitar and bass.

Thanks again strat and chordbook.

Sincerely,

GuitarZen

You are right. This is a helpful side. I wish there would be someone to say "thank you" to.

Questions don't take very long to get answered. What are you talking about? This forum isn't very active, and doesn't get a lot of questions.

I have thousands of questions but I don't even know how to ask them yet. I read most of the posts on the board and a lot of my questions were answered. I guess the board could be more active but I'm still thankful for what is offered and for free. I think thanks goes to Admin who's nick is 'strat'. Seems like anyway.

For as much as I've received in my year and a half lurking and learning, I'm almost tempted to ask where to donate to the cause, or if that's even needed. Dunno. At any rate, I have to say chordbook.com is the best site of it's kind that I've found.

Hi Guitar Zen,

I was thinking about putting a donations page up. I guess its come to the point where chordbook is getting bigger and more work to handle, and have lots of things I'd like to do but restricted by time and funds. Might do this in the near future.

cheers,

strat

Hello strat ! Well count me in for something if and when you put up a 'donations' link or what have you.  Your site has been so much help to me that I wouldn't hesitate to 'donate to the cause' as they say.

Regards,

GuitarZen

Howdy folks,

A friend of mine who's learning guitar just sent me the link to this site. I'm happy he did. Just reading forum postings for the last hour or so. Great stuff. And, hats off to Old Tele Guy with his seemingly altruistic information stream. I just read a 101 thing on modes and I've never seen it put so concisely and simply. Anyway, enough butt licking. I'll be bugging you folks again soon enough. Pluck it.
