Is there a way to download the Guitar Chords thingy form this site? The actual Application, so you can use it on your desktop...

Hi Zach,
At the moment there is no way to download this and use offline, occasionally get asked this, but there doesn't seem to be a big demand, keeping it online means we can update it easily but an offline version would probably mean supporting it and other issues.
all the best

Why ? If it' downloaded, you will find yourself in front of your computer screen.
If you use it from the website, you will find yourself in front of your computer screen.
It is very useful, I use it all the time. I just don't see any benefits of downloading it. I would still have to turn on the `putor to use it.

hello ureshanna and welcome to chordboard. There's not a way to download the Guitar Chord finder at the present time. May I ask if the purpose of downloading the program would be to enjoy it offline opposed to always having to be online to do so?
Who knows, perhaps ADMIN will find a way to allow that one day !

Having a Downloadable version for members of the Chordbook Forum would be GREAT!
this is my main source for guitar chords Q & A's.
latelly I had trouble getting online from my MACBOOK & it was really REALLY frustrating.
Hope Moderators read and consider this.
expect good things for the future of this site.

Hello 1eleven1, welcome to the board. I think Strat (Admin) sums it up best back at post 2008-09-22 20:55. I don't know of any online chord generator that can be downloaded but if there was one I'd use it. Thing is though, I use all the features of chordbook including the chat so I don't know when I'd fire up the comp and not open the site to use all of it.
Anyway, in my opinion and now that I've given it more thought I'd rather the features of chordbook not be downloadable. But then I feel a certain loyalty to chordbook don't I....
Will be interested to see other long time members' view on this.
Cheers,

Zen,
I tend to agree with you on this subject. Alot of time and effert went into the creation of this site and its features. I dont think its fair to the admin or the contributors for someone to just happen bye and download the the chord generator data base and run off with it, never to be seen again.

Well Im new hear.... And this topic is a bit old.. But i would like to comment... So don't kill me... a downloadable version would be Hot! I would love to be able to take this program with me to beach, camping etc or where ever I wouldn't have internet access.. The creators should really think about creating a downloadable version. 69 your right its obvious there has been a lot of hard work and time involved.. Don't you think they deserve a little more than a slap on the back?? I would Pay for this program in a heart beat !! Not that money is everything
And anyway if your worried about a poachers or passerbuyers running off... I say good riddens those are the kind of people you really don't want around anyhow..

if you use Google chrome you can create an application shortcut with this address so you are not going to ask ever for a downloadable version.
