It's been a decent year for music, if you know where to look. What are your tops?
Mine:
Dub trio - Another Sound is Dying (released winter 08)
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes (released spring 08)
Blitzen Trapper - Furr (Released fall 08)
Benji Hughes - A Love Supreme
The Black Keys - Attack and Release
The Black Crowes - Warpaint
My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges
I added a lot of B's to my playlist this year.

I don't actually know what albums I've picked up were released in 2008. But here are a few of my favorites I've purchased recently:
Shade Empire: Zero Nexus
Sons of Azrael: The Conjuration of Vengeance
Angelcorpse: Of Lucifer and Lightning
Kreator: Hordes of Chaos
Children of Bodom: Blooddrunk
Dethklok: The Dethalbum
Nile: Ithyphallic
Malevolent Creation: Doomsday X
Immortal: Sons of Northern Darkness
There are a ton more. If it's metal (and doesn't include the atrocious "-core" in the genre name I'll probably enjoy it.
If nothing in this world can change our children will inherit nothing.
