Hi everyone,
I'm new here and i just thought maybe i could post something just to introduce myself. I have been looking for a new guitar for over 2 weeks now and i came across this one called the FENDER CD100 CE. Its got some pretty good ratings, but that didn't really convince me and the price is $269. I want to get it but i just want to ask you guys if any of you own one or has played one before? I just want some details or info on this one first. Feel free to discribe every bad and good about this guitar if any of you have it or played one or know anything about it.. Thank you all very much

Hello. I saw your question about the FENDER CD100 CE guitar. I have not played or heard of this model, but I will share some opinions I have based on the product reviews I read.
It sounds like a great beginner to intermediate guitar. All of the features described sound very acceptable. I did notice that the guitar is not sold with a case. If you buy this guitar, do not leave the store without a case or a padded gig bag. You should treat your instrument with more respect than you show your own mother. Take good care of your instrument, and it will serve you well for years to come.
I like the cutaway on the guitar. This will provide great access to the upper fret level. I also like the onboard pre-amp. It can become a great tool for you. It will also make recording a lot simplier. Just plug it in, set your tone, and go for it.
But product features and appearance should be low on your list of shopping priorities. Number 1 should be sound. What does it sound like? Do you like the sound of the instrument? If it has a crappy sound, move on. Simple as that. Number 2 should be playability. How does it feel in your hand? How wide is the fretboard? When you play a 6-string bar chord, do all the strings ring clearly? How do bar chords sound up around the 10th and 12th fret? Do you get any fret buzz when fretting a note or chord along the way anywhere? These are two things that you can decide on in the store before you bring it home... and spend money. If you can't be happy with these two concerns in the store, you'll never be happy with the instrument.
Finally, I'll share a tidbit with you that I've heard for years concerning Fender acoustics and Gibson Basses. Stay away from them. Gibson's forte has always been electric and accoustic guitars. Fender's forte has always been electric guitars and electric basses. I can say from experience that I absolutely hated the only Fender accoustic I ever had. After a month, I sold it for half of what I paid for it. Same way with the only Gibson bass I ever had. When I got rid of my Fender acoustic, I picked up an Ovation Celebrity. I have loved it for 16 years. I have been jamming on my Fender 5-string Precision for nearly 10.
Ultimately, the choice must be yours. Having a guitar that somebody else thinks is great is a foolish thing to do. Buy the instrument that fits your hand and pleases your ear. THEN worry about finding the right color scheme and all that. If a guitar sounds great and feels great in my hands, I don't care if it is pink with pictures of daisies on it. I can close my eyes and pretend it is a Taylor or a Martin. It has to begin with sound and feel.
Hope this helps you. Good luck. Let us know if you buy this guitar and what you think about it.

Thank You very much todallyluny for your opinions. They really give me some thoughts. I found a shop near my area and was gonna go check it out, but we just got hit with ice and snow. With all that trouble i wasn't able to go and check it out yet. I'll probably have to wait untill all the damn ice melt first. I'll post up some info on it and let everyone know. Thanks again for the response..

No problem. I hope you find what you're looking for. It takes some people years to find that right fit. Remember, find the instrument that best suits what you are looking for. Not something that you think will impress your friends, or an instrument that somebody else plays.
