thanks a heep Bobo. I have been inspired !!
I have been working with a bunch of backing tracks all in E B and C major and using E Band C minor pentatonic scales.
I switched it up and used E B and C minor backing tracks an then used E B and C major scales.
The backing tracks are mostly blues, slow blues, fast blues, blues shuffle (a 12 bar blues), and a sort of funky blues thing of sorts. I have them in just about every key.
Good gosh this is FUN !!! my fingers are getting to move fast enough and finally sort of go where I want them. I think I finally get it. One has to have "feel" of what one wants to play. After a while the fingers just sort of go there. I still hit a lot wrong notes in all my enthusiasm. But the point is that I have finally left that old plateau I could never seem to leave.
I play a few scale riffs then every once in a while I hit a little arpeggio ditty with a two or three minor chords then back to some scale solo. phrasing stinks though, about all I can do is put in a bend here and there. I have a long way to go but getting there !!!

Sweet!! having fun is the most important part. Also remember when bending strings to bend it far enough to raise its pitch to match the next note in the scale.

Just checked out your video, really cool. I can start to see the relationship between chromatic scales and riffs. I played trumpet in high school so I'm familiar with scales and timing, it's just trying to talk my fingers into doing it now that's the trick.

We have an expression here in the USA, though an old one...I think it expresses fully that which you have posted on tube guitarfreak and that expression is 'hot dang !'
I got a better idea about sweeping than I previously had, so thanks !

GOOD GOSH !!! guitarfreak er...ugh... I mean Mr. Freak, Sir..........
those left hand fingers sort of remind me of some weird spider dance on insane fast forward speed on the National Geographic channel.
Ya'll notice how Mr. Freak, Bobo, and Sir Cricket posted in the beginners section ? Right now I am walking over and shooting my guitars to just em out of their misery. ![]()
