now most people expect guitarists to be like, incredibly good at guitar hero. but if herman li can only do his OWN song on hard and get only 2% done before failing, i think this proves the theory is a bust. but what about you? how many of us would say that they like and/or are even pretty good at guitar hero? i would have to say (about myself) i like it, but i don't even own it. so i'm not that good. but, what about you?...

i don't like it.
that may just be because i fail at it and my stubborness dictates that if i can't do it then i don't like it haha.
i play it with my mates now and then but.... it's not something i could sit and play at home...

my brother-in-law hates all the guitar hero games and all the rock band games. and he doesn't even play the guitar! it's pretty funny though, cause my brother likes the game, but he said it's nothing like playing the real guitar. so when he first played, he hated it. now he doesn't expect any of the guitar hero games to be like the real guitar like did when he first played.

funny story about guitar hero, last christmas(08') my sister asked me what i wanted for christmas and i told her that i really wanted some type of pedal for my guitar or just some thing i could use for my guitar or anything guitar related, turns out chritmas day i see a big box with my name on it and guess what it is.... a little plastic guitar hero controller i hated it but i still smiled and said "wow!... this is what i wanted thanks!!" the funny part about it is a few days before christmas she had asked me if i wanted any video games and i clearly remember saying no i dont even like video games that much any more i just want something guitar related(pedal, cleaning kit, strings) the happy part about the story is she at least got me clothes i liked,
its pretty fun game i suppose, I just dont see how anybody would want that over a real guitar. i play it every now and then but im not that good i can only play a few song on medium

haha! that's pretty funny. my cousin has the game, and he tried to play the real guitar, and hated it. but when he tried guitar hero, he loved it. i don't see how people think it's like playing the real guitar though. i mean, try playing one, just ONE, scale on that controler, and if you can, then i'll give you a million bucks!

I agree with guitarfreak. I will play it at a friends house if they are playing it. but i wouldnt go out and buy it. If i was going to play a video game i can think of others i would rather play. If i thought "oh i wanna play some songs" i would actually pick up a guitar

If playing guitar hero does'nt qualify you as a guitar player.Am I to assume then that I'm not a qualified X-wing pilot or a member of an elite special forces team as well?

Ive been playing real guitar about 4 yrs. My 7 yrs old destroys me at guitar hero!! I think playing real guitar makes it harder because i want to "stum" the controller in time with the music but most songs on the game it just wont work. I guess i cant think of it like pushing a button

in my opinion people who play guitar hero could instead use that same time to train on the guitar and unarguably would gain something far richer than a score on a video game. that being said it is kind of fun may even be a little helpful and if it helps pull someone over to actually trying to become a guitar hero then it is awesome.
oh i might also ad tha for what guitar hero cost you can get a pretty sweet beginner guitar what is it like one eighty plust the system add another what 400 ok now were talking amp and guitar maybe an effects peddle hmmm
if my calculations are correct SLINKY + ESCULATOR = EVERLASTING FUN

so i guess our final conclusion is this...."real guitarists are almost never good at guitar hero, because guitar hero sucks compaired to a real guitar"....i like it.

I only played the game once, on easy level and I sucked. So, I'm probably the only one who can legitimately claim to suck at both GH and the real guitar!
I remember seeing something about a kid who won some national GH competition. He said he played 1-2 hours everyday for about 18 months. With that kind of time, you could be pretty good at the real thing.

Just the other day I received an Email. In the subject box it said GUITAR HERO, and I thought to myself, "Well it's about time somebody recognized the talent that I am." Then I opened the email and saw it was an ad for the game.

Hehe..
Guitar Hero is one pretty good game i suppose..
though i havent played it for a long time..
i quit once i got to the "hard" level..
TOO complicated..
but it does make you feel like a rockstar if you dont know how to play the real one...![]()
But as mentioned...
its no way better then the real thing..

Hehehe, it looks like I am a minority in myself.
I am a girl, I play the guitar, and Rockband 2. Lovin' every bit of it, I guess it's because I'm young.
Could never really get into Guitar Hero, the onscreen graphics were too noisy and the controller was really cheap looking.
