really new to all this and struggling to even get fingers on strings.  Read the earlier posts and someone got the tab wrong way around (I was unsure too) but

                      E-x
                      B-x
                      G-3
                      D-2
                      A-1
                      E-1

sounds good, is there a name for that chord?

No name for that one that I know of.  Thats a backwards F chord,  it should be:

E-1   Index finger
B-1      "       "
G-2   Middle finger
D-3   Little finger
A-3   Ring finger
E-x

Yeh, thanks, realised it was backwards but tried it anyway and sounded good.  Only had the guitar (nylon string) for 2 weeks and just have a couple of chords.  Gradually beginning to put the fingers in the right place more easily but the right sound doesn't always come out of it.  My fingers sting and whether or not I keep this up all guitar players are heroes from now on.
