Has anyone here ever owned a Seagull?

I'm shopping for an upgrade and shopping in the $400 to $700 range. I was in Guitar Center the other day and I played a Taylor Big Baby and a Martin DCXE X and I just didn't feel the good low tone that I'm looking for. Then the sales manager came over and when I told him the sound I was looking for he handed me a Seagull Maritime. I must admit, the sound really impressed me. It had a nice deep tone that rang clear. It sounded really good. The problem is that I've never known anyone who owned a Seagull, so I can't ask about how it is in the long term.
The sales manager said that it was made in Canada and that the wood was subsidised and that it has a solid top, back and sides.
Has anyone here ever owned one?
Thanks,

But would you recommend it over other guitars?

mm tough question there. There are a multitude of guitars right in that price range.  I would if I didn't find one I like better.  I think it's a matter of preference. sound, playability, etc.  I suppose what I am trying to say is that as far as quality goes. I have never had a problem. but sound/tone, neck shape etc. is a matter of preference.

what I would suggest is go back into the Guitar Center acoustic room without the salesman and try a bunch of guitars out in your price range.

I like my seagull but it's a twelve string. the sound cannot be compared to any six string.

I'm well aware of the large amount of guitars in this price range and have played many of them in the store. I have narrowed my search down to the Seagull because I like it's sound and playability. I'm happy with the way it sounds. That's why I asked if anyone owned one and could speak for it's long term quality. Therefore, the section of your reply listed below, was most helpful. Thank you.

Anyone else ever owned one? Any problems with it? Did it continue to sound as good or better over time as it did when you bought it.

sounds better over time ? yes (I "think" the tone is better could be because I play a little better though.)  would I buy another one ? Yes.  Mine has a ceder top (12 string). If I was to buy another I think it would have a spruce top for a 6 string.
there is photo of it here on the forums towards the bottom of the first page:
