Or perhaps more appropriately; A minor pentatonic or it's relative major, C major pentatonic.
Could also be;

e----------------------------------------5--8---
B----------------------------------5--8----
G------------------------5--7--8
D------------------5--7--
A---------5--6--7------
E---5--8------------

A minor Blues scale or relative C major Blues scale

i think for it to be a major blues scale, you would take off the very last note on the high E string....

Thanks for mapping out the pent scales bull_dog, I especially noticed and liked that you show which fingers to use for each note plus that you named each note in the scale. Not a typical way the scales are shown, so hey, yer way ahead of the learning curve and yes...they helped me a lot !

Cheers,

Before I add the rest of the positions for A major pentatonic, I have a question.    Is anyone following this post starting to see some kind of pattern developing here?

Well, it looks to me as if the fingerings are identical for both the pent major and pent minor scales except pent minor is 3 frets higher than major.

A major pentatonic scale at 4th position:

-----------------------------------------------------9---12
------------------------------------------10---12---
--------------------------------9---11-------------
----------------------9---11----------------------
------------9---12------------------------------
--9---12-----------------------------------------
