your fisrt ??? what are guitar scales used for === to solo with,, exsample you find what key your playing in lets say Aminor. you learn the Aminor scales that i posted ,and wohla play  them with a chord progresstion like C,G,Am,F play any one of them chords and play my first pattern, Play chord C with pattern one then play chord G with the same pattern chord Am with same pattern then chord F same pattern, But you can use any one of thoughs patterns in that chord progesstion to solo with ,,well hope this helps look around the chordbook site there are chord finders here,, scales, jam tracks, and mush more, learn your chords just have fun and don,t give up you will learn, if any one has any feed on this post get on it
