I've got a mexi strat i've been thinking of beefing up. one thing i wanna do is put lace sensor pickups in it. but aside from the lace website and guitar center website, i can't find any information about them that doesnt sound like propaganda.
can anyone link me a video or atleast describe what these pickups sound like? something like "later buddy guy" or "90s clapton" say something like that, please. if anyone is actually using these pickups, i'd LOVE any feedback you can give me. thankyou!

I'd love to have some of those in my Squier Strat.....I think. I've never seen any info on those things that didn't sound like propaganda, which is exactly why I don't have them in my guitar. Every product a person can buy toots it's own horn to some degree but, those lace sensor p-ups seem to have no outside confirmation of their abilities. Sorry I couldn't be of any help to ya.

Hello Austin Texas, welcome to chordbook...well if for some reason I wanted Lace Sensor pups installed on my electric, I believe the best thing to do is have music store help you with that if they have a tech/luthier onboard. Reason being, is that they prolly won't do that if they don't think it's worth it.
Either way, you'll at least be able to ask questions of the tech/luthier before you have the LS pups installed, plus if you have trouble with the install, you'll be able to go back there and get some help...unlike buying them online or such, then finding out they're not for you. Hope this helps a bit.

After reading that article, Jim, Lace Sensor pups might be the next mod happening to my $99 Squier Strat

Alright, now that I have first hand experience with Lace Sensor p - ups I can say whether or not they do as claimed:
Claim #1 Lace Sensors are better shielded and are less noisy than ordinary SC p -ups when used by themselves. Well on my Squier Strat using only 1 p -up was so noisy with buzz it almost drowned out the notes I was playing. Now with my Lace Sensor I'm able to use it by itself and there is no buzz whatsoever. It is, as claimed to be, silent when used alone.
Claim#2 LS p-ups have better harmonics and increased sustain. This claim also seems to be true. While sustain is difficult to gauge, I believe mine is increased by adding a LS p-up. As for harmonics, my guitar absolutely screams in pinched harms. Yep this claim also appears to be true.
Claim #3 LS p-ups can be raised closer to the strings due to the lack of super powerful magnets which grab the strings when too close and stop it vibrating. This too appears to be true. Raising my LS p-up to within a 32nd of an inch to the depressed string seems not to affect sustain or harms.
Well there you have it, in my opinion, LS p-ups for your strat? Hell yes and put them on your tele also. They seem to be exactly as is claimed.
