Hey guys. Haven't been on here much lately but began writing a song and formed a chord that I do not know the name of. The spelling is....1-5-6-7 if the chord was a form of (G). But I'll just tab it out to save the confusion ![]()
E 2
B 3
G O
D 2
A O
E X
I was thinking that it was some sort of G over the A (G???/A). G D E F# / (A) are the notes if it is a G.
It sounds great when you resolve the F# to a G :p
Thanks for the help in advance ![]()

ha, yeah i'm not sure but it sounds great in the song lol. typical "i-don't-know-what-i'm-playing-but-it-sounds-good" chord.

I like the X 0 2 0 3 2 when named Dsus4(add-9). This because the X 0 2 0 3 3 resolution becomes Dsus4(add9) and I couldn't find the X 0 2 0 3 2 called out here in chordbook. Might have looked around at chord spellers elsewhere but I think these names do ok. Anybody else?
Cheers,

...with that open A5 string, it doesn't overtly look like a member of the G-chord family, but rather more like an A13 chord, like this:
E 2 = 6/13th
B 3 = 4/11th
G 0 = dom.7th
D 2 = 5th
A 0 = Root
E x
...however, it could also be G major 13th (GM13) with the 3rd omitted, like this:
E 2 = Maj7th
B 3 = 5th
G 0 = Root
D 2 = 6/13th
A 0 = 2/9th
E x = not played
