Hey Guys!
I am a beginner guitar player. Recently came to USA. I used to practice acoustic guitar in my country, Bangladesh, for like 6 months, with a tutor, b4 coming here. After coming to the United States, I bought Ibanez IJX40 electric beginner package, about 3 months ago.
I practice myself on my own. Learned the 14 major and minor chords using Google, Chordbook.com and the Ibanez chart. Other than that, I know the A, B, C, D, E, F, G blues scales. Will learn the pentatonic and chromatic scales. Also, I always practice fingering and I am always pushing myself to playing faster and faster, with no mistakes. If I make a mistake, I slow down, play correctly...
I practice 1 hr a day on average and like 1.5 to 2 hrs, a day,  when Im really in the mood! Favourite bands are Alter Bridge and Megadeth, and Guns N Roses and Metallica.
Im a high school junior. Summer Vacations just started a week ago. So anyone has ANY suggestions how I can improve my playing during these 2 free months, and play like Mustaine?? (Megadeth songs are real tough and 'technical' aren't they?!!)
I would be grateful. Thanks!

make chromatic runs of the fret board... 1, 2, 3, 4   1, 2, 3, 4 up and down from 1st string to 6th string, then after you can do that smoothly and quickly change the order around and do something like 4,2,1,3   2, 1, 3, 4
and keep after it until muscle memory kicks in and you can do it without even thinking about it. Of course to play like Kirk Hammett it will take 5 or 6 hours a day for a few years. Good luck and have fun!
