You can't beat Alabama nor The Eagles for their pure musical talent. Their harmonies are simply unbeatable. And, they both have stood the test of time.
Dean,
two other bands come to mind as far as harmonies go..
1- The Mamas and Papas (music was done by session guys) but great harmonies for 4 voices.
2- Toto. This band was made up of various session musicians. Very strong harmonies as well.
Jim
YUP.....these groups also had great harmonies.
But, to remember these groups, you must be as OLD as I am!!
Yea, gotta go with dean. Not my favorite, but defintely best song arrangement is by the eagles. Favorite would have to be Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, or Metallica. Depending on when you ask me.
never heard of the eagles or Alabama. Can u send me a youtube link?
This link shows how long The Eagles have been around. This link is from 1973:

Hey Dean....'old as me huh'....well you'll like this...i still have 'Hotel California' in wax as vinyl records used to be called....just got a usb turntable and will be making cd's from that album and would you believe the album is in really good condition in spite of it's vintage? Unlike me though...heh, heh....oh and I have 'Houses Of The Holy' in wax too. The cd's will make great Christmas presents maybe.
Cheers,

Mine are probably Rush, Ted Nugent, and UFO. Obviously, I can't just have one favorite. ![]()
EDIT: Forgot about SRV&DB (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble)
Hey GZ,
I think Dean was refuring to me with the age comment.....lol
I still have all my 60's, and 70's albums on vinyl, and alot of 8 tracks too.
That includes the whole beatles collection, un-opened., and 2 copies of Hotel...,
and about 500 others.
some day (if I live long enough) I'm going to transfur them to CD
J
Hey 69Jaguar: I have some hardware/software that I'm using to convert all my old 60s/70s "platters" and cassettes to digital on my computer. Then I can either burn a CD or sync it to my iPod. It works great. As a retired engineer, I still enjoy technology at 60.
SOOO totallyyyyyyy PARAMORE
dey r da BOMB!
Hey J, ship it all to me, I'll glady put them on cd's for you....heh, heh....and yeah, yer old alright....
Cheers,
GuitarZen
When talking about harmonizing one group that gets left ut is The Gatlin Brothers , There vocal harmonies were ten times better than most even Alabama and i say that being a big Alabama fan......
But since thats not the topic its hard to narrow down my Fav so i guess it will haf to be the Waylon Jennings and the Waymore Blues band ......B4 and after breakup ...I just really Like Waylon....
man, i don't have a favorite. i just listen to guns 'n roses, ac/dc, five iron frenzy (look it up), srv (double trouble to be exact...) i guess it depens on the day
OK.
First of all, GZ, shipping my wax to you aint gonna happen..... LOL
Second, Good call on the G Bros Hoss.
Third, Dean, You didnt specify what kind of engineer you are. But I am a CET..
